The research work of Dr. Zia ur Rehman is mainly focused on the constitutive behavior of soils and its modeling. In his Ph.D., he investigated the three-dimensional constitutive behavior of the gravelly soil-structure interface and proposed a three-dimensional elastoplastic damage interface model. His work promoted the constitutive theory of dynamic interface response and soil-structure interaction analysis method. Based on his research work, he earned the prestigious "Tsinghua University Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation" award in 2020. He has co-authored around 40 research papers (H-index 11, Commutative impact factor 135+), in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings. His publications can be found in numerous world-leading high-impact journals such as Canadian Geotechnical Journal, Computers and Geotechnics, International Journal of Geomechanics, Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Building Engineering, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Environmental Management, Energy and Buildings, Transportation Geotechnics, Road Materials and Pavement Design and others.
