Briefly, My major research work is about the stabilization, modification, and characterization of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE); a versatile polymeric material used for various industrial applications. For stabilizing I have worked on a number of micro and nano-scale additives compatible with this unique polymer including saline, vitamin E, MWCNTs and graphene, etc. In furtherance to stabilization of UHMWPE, I have worked on enhancing its physical, chemical, shielding, and load-bearing properties of UHMWPE while treating the polymer and its composites with high energy radiations such as gamma, e-beam, X-ray, etc. Subsequent to formulation and treatment, characterization with resonance (ESR/EPR), wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXS), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and Raman Spectroscopy was performed to ensure the optimized structural-properties correlations for a particular industrial application. The industrial applications that are of my interest are:

  • Using the Polymer and its composites for Biomedical application
  • Using Polymer and its nanocomposites for energy applications
  • Using polymer and its composites for thermoelectric applications
  • Using polymer and its composites for energy storage applications as dielectric material in capacitors because it has maximum surface/static charge accumulation ability
  • Using polymer and its composites for environmental applications for the filtration of drinking water
  • Using polymer and its composites for EMI and neutron shielding purpose,

In my major research areas, I have published/accepted more than 30 international research articles in well-reputed peer-reviewed ISI-indexed journals, and 6 papers of mine are currently under review. Moreover, I have 13 conference proceedings three of which are published in the Radiation Physics and Chemistry (peer-reviewed) journal of Elsevier I have hand on experience during my PhD with maximum material characterization techniques including electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), FTIR, Raman, DSC, TGA, WAXD, double integrating sphere (DIS), UV-Visible spectroscopy, etc. In addition to this, I am working on utilizing smart mathematical approaches including Graph theory, Matrix algebra, Analytical Hierarchy process, and Multivariate statistics for optimizing the additive concentrations for cost-effective and more reliable end-user products. Furthermore, I am well aware of simulating the material properties while using the QUANTUM ESPRESSO and COMSOL multi-physics.
