Smart Micro-Grid:
My master thesis is on the penetration model of distributed energy resources in a smart grid environment. This research thesis is carried out to investigate the existing distribution network and to propose an optimal penetration model of photovoltaic based hybrid on-grid and micro-grid energy system for university (UET Taxila) feeder. The smart control scheme is also proposed for the PV connected hybrid distribution network to comply with the rising demand for electricity and to address various issues of the existing network. Design, modelling and analysis of hybrid energy systems are investigated. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used for smart control. The input and training data are collected from the local distribution company of WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) for training, validation and testing of a network control model.
Power Economic Dispatch:
During my undergraduate degree, I worked on Reviewing Economic Dispatch, also formulating and Programming the Economic Dispatch in Visual C++ and testing the program on the IEEE test system.
Electrical Machines Lab:
During my job, I have conducted fifty-four (54) different experiments related to ac/dc machines and single/three-phase transformers; and taught the undergraduate students for six (06) years by using three different trainers of electrical machines.
Designing ATS and AVR:
During my job, I successfully supervised the project of designing an automatic transfer switch (ATS) and an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) for a single-phase alternator.
Designing Universal Trainers:
During my job, I designed universal electrical machines trainers which include single-phase home appliances.
Designing Transformer Trainers:
During my job, I designed a low cost single-phase and three-phase transformer trainers for conducting labs and training field engineers on transformers.
Designing Insulator Test Bed:
During my job, I designed the insulator testbed for testing high voltage insulators and supervising master students for research.
Currently, I am completing my PhD degree with many publications in collaboration with12 international Universities of 9 different countries. My ongoing research collaboration is in process with more than 30 researchers/professors of more than 15 different countries. I have participated in international conferences including China, USA, Pakistan, Dubai UAE and Australia. My daily life priorities include Research work of my specialized field; taking Online courses; and Reading self-help books.
