Faculty Conference at UET Taxila on January 8, 2011

The theme of the conference was ‘IDEAS 2011’. Dr. Javed R Laghari, chairman, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan was the chief guest of this first faculty conference, while Dr Shoaib Sadal, Federal Tax Ombudsman and Mian Muhammad Javaid, Former Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority were the guest speakers on this auspicious occasion.With the active participation of all faculty members, IDEAS 2011 successfully achieved its objective to involve faculty members in the planning of upcoming events for the year 2011.

Seminar on “Road Transport Facilitation for Efficient Economy and Social Welfare” and “New Traffic Trends in the World and  on Digital Tachograph” attended by  International Road Transport Union (IRU) on 18 April, 2012 At Conference Hall, Admin Block, UET Taxila.

Mr Hayder Ozkan from International Road Transport Union “IRU” was the guest speaker and gave briefing about the Road Transport Facilitation for Efficient Economy and Social Welfare. He also put light on the IRU strategy to achieve sustainable development. In this regard, the TIR System and TIR Convention was briefly described with different strategies like Black Sea Ring Highway Caravan 2007 and IRU-ECO Silk Road Travel Caravan 2010 studies. He also told the participants about IRU Model Highway Initiative (IRU-MHI).

One Day Seminar on "Road Safety Issues in Pakistan” held on 31st May, 2012 at Conference Hall, Admin Block, UET Taxila.

lectures were delivered by Representatives of NH & MP (National Highway and Motorway Police) North Zone, Rescue 1122 (Rawalpindi HQ), Poly Clinic Islamabad and 3M. About 120 participants including Drivers, Students and faculty attended the seminar.

One Day Seminar on "Road Safety Issues in Pakistan" held on 17th October 2012 at Conference Hall, Admin Block, UET Taxila.

The Chief guests were Inspector General NH&MP and Deputy Inspector General NH&MP. The Chief Guests told the participants about the recent trends in Pakistan on the issues of Traffic safety and the efforts of NH&MP to reduce the accidents and crashes. He told the participants about the various problems being faced and the solutions to overcome the problems. A discussion session was also held in which the participants and students of transportation engineering asked various questions.
